The sign says "Gone to Memphis in the Meantime".

When you have had all you can stand or when spring fever strikes... when that disquieted feeling takes you over and you know you just gotta get out of town ...  command your GPS to follow John Hiatt ... 'cause in the meantime it's straight to Memphis for their version of hog heaven; Saturday night at their infamous rib joint, The Rendezvous, followed by a music feast on Beale St.

Climb up into your pickup truck, put your convertible pedal down, or jump on your Harley hog, and let John Hiatt get you down the highway.   For as the 2008 Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award winner for Songwriting knows,  we'll surely do so much better once we've had us some trumpet and saxophone, when you've heard sounds sweet as sin,and when we get ourselves a big 'ol whiff of being back where we belong.  Yes, when we're back in touch with that sweet sensation that lives in the Memphis wind, tasted in their BBQ, and nestled beside the mighty Mississippi; it serves us up a quiet reminder.   It says, take time to go easy like.   Take time for gliding with Sonny's slide.  Just be surrounded in that magnolia Memphis flow.  You rejuvenate, blossom with springtime, and feel your happy-go-lucky placated smile softly return.

So go ahead; Post your sign: "Gone to Memphis in the Meantime".   I can promise you Memphis will welcome you, feed you, and play for you!

Sidenote: If your mouth is watering for Rendezvous Dry Rub BBQ sooner than you can get there; order by 2pm and tomorrow you'll be eating hog heaven.
